About Products

AXS
AXS is a multi-channel payment service provider, offering convenient access for individuals and businesses to pay a wide range of bills and fees. It has has several platform, there are AXS Station (kiosk machine), AXS e-Station (online website), and AXS m-Station (mobile app).

Wandr-E
Wandr-E is a remittance service based in Singapore, they provides fund transfer to banks and other financial institutions. Their main product features are send money overseas via bank transfer, wallet top-up, and bill payments, with a list of countries covered in Asia, United Kingdom, Australia, Europe, and New Zealand.

The Collaboration

AXS partnered with Wandr-E as a stakeholder to improve their remittance service feature. This cross platform integration will allow users to conveniently send money abroad through the AXS platform by using Wandr-E’s API. Through this collaboration, AXS expands its payment options, offering a seamless and reliable method for customers in Singapore to remit funds globally.

While the collaboration involves all AXS platforms, this article will focus on the remittance feature on AXS m-Station (mobile app).

Research and Design Process

To identify the most efficient flow for the integration between AXS and Wandr-E, I conducted a series of steps. Started from analyzing AXS products with the document and requirement they have sent, do user research and take notes on existing system between AXS and Wandr-E, then creating user flow and mockup for final design.

Document and Requirement
After reading the collaboration document requirements, I noted that the collaboration between AXS and Wandr-E will require:

  1. Seamless interface integration to harmonise AXS with existing Wandr-E interfaces.

  2. Tailored UX design between AXS and Wandr-E for an experience that aligns with AXS m-Station UI standards.

Product and User Research

From the highlighted points on document & requirements, I decide to do product research (AXS m-Station) by knowing their user target and understanding how their remittance services flow works. After that, I conducted product benchmarking to find out the advantages and disadvantages that could be implemented in the AXS collaboration.

Formerly, this is the AXS remittance service flow:

User Flow

After doing product and user research, I create 2 integration flow options:

  1. Handover using AXS customer's data

  1. Handover using Myinfo data

Through the two flow options and extensive discussion, we identified their pros and cons:

Handover using AXS customer's data:

(+) Handover flow will be more seamless and cut

some step sequence

(+) UI design will be more harmonised

(-) AXS cannot provide their customer's data to

third party

Handover using Myinfo data:

(+) Users will feel more secure with data sharing

via myinfo

(+) Wandr-E product will be more stand out

(-) Handover flow will require lot of step

Handover using AXS customer's data will always be the best option for user flow, but there are unchangeable provisions from both parties, so the integrating Myinfo on customer's onboarding is chosen to be handover flow.

Design Ideation

  1. Option 1 (New screen design following AXS UI style)

  1. Option 2 (Using Wandr-E API)

Final Design

After both parties have discussed and considering time efficiency, option 2 is choosen.
